How much does it cost to rent a wedding DJ in Miami?+
Three published packages, all 5 hours: DJ Only $1,800 (when your venue has a house PA you can patch into), DJ + Sound $2,400 (most weddings — DJ brings the full rig), DJ + Sound + Lights $3,500 (full production with dance floor lighting + uplights + hazer). DJ named on every contract before signing. Overtime $175/hour. Popular Saturdays carry a +20% prime-date premium applied at booking.
What's the difference between DJ Only, DJ + Sound, and DJ + Sound + Lights?+
DJ Only ($1,800) is for venues that already have a sound system you can patch into — Faena Forum, most major hotel ballrooms with house PA. The DJ brings the controller (Pioneer DDJ-800 or AlphaTheta XDJ-AZ) and a wireless mic. DJ + Sound ($2,400) adds an EV EKX-15P powered PA pair + EKX-18SP subs, Yamaha mixer, mic, stands, all cables — works in any venue with or without house PA. DJ + Sound + Lights ($3,500) adds dance floor lighting (8 wireless LED uplights, 2 wash + beam moving heads, hazer) for visible energy from the moment guests walk in.
Can I request a specific named DJ?+
Our standard package assigns a vetted Miami DJ matched to your event style — named on the contract before signing. If you want a specific named artist (resident or guest), we quote that as a premium add-on with a date-first availability check.
Do I have to use your DJ?+
No. We also offer audio-only and lighting-only rentals — see /audio-rental (from $800) and /lighting-rental (from $800) if you're bringing your own DJ. The /wedding-dj packages above are for clients who want our vetted Miami DJ included.
Do you provide ceremony audio separately?+
Yes — that's a different rig (battery PA, weatherproof, set up at the aisle) and a different time block. We quote it on /wedding-ceremony — packages from $800 (single battery speaker, 2 wireless mics, engineer) to $1,200 (two speakers + cold spark recessional). Ceremony + reception bookings together usually combine into one production lead and one COI.
What about destination weddings outside Miami?+
If your venue is in the Florida Keys, Palm Beach (luxury venues), Orlando, Tampa or central Florida, see /destination-wedding — same DJ + production tiers but priced as base × 1.25 + travel (Keys flat $750 + hotel; Palm Beach +$150 delivery; beyond is per-job quoted). Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach (standard venues) use this page's reception pricing with +$80 / +$150 delivery.
How early does the DJ + crew arrive?+
We load in 90–120 minutes before your event start time. Sound check is complete before guests arrive. The engineer coordinates load-in logistics with your venue directly — freight elevator, vendor parking, dock timing — so you never have to play go-between.
What's the overtime rate?+
Overtime is $175/hour, billed in 30-minute increments. We confirm your decision to extend with you on the night — never an automatic charge. The rate is published; no surprises.
Will the DJ take requests from guests?+
That's a conversation we have before the event. Default is yes, within your do-not-play list. If you want a tight playlist with no requests, we can do that too. Worth deciding before the event so the DJ has the right answer when Aunt Linda walks up at 9:45.
